Master of Science in Communications Engineering
Master of Science in Communications Engineering (MSc. CE) is a two-year full-time programme offered by the School of Science and Engineering of the CUHK-Shenzhen revolving around the area of communications engineering. The programme aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills that enable them to develop and implement solutions for harvesting, transmission, and processing data and information, with a wide coverage of emerging technology such as network intelligence, next generation network, wireless communications, machine learning, Internet of Things, cloud computing, edge computing, big data, and analytic processing. Additionally, progressive research projects are incorporated each semester to guide students in applying their professional knowledge to scientific research and practice, fostering independent initiative and innovative thinking. Graduates will emerge as professionals with both theoretical and practical expertise, enabling them to adapt quickly to the ever-changing industry landscape and market demands, while possessing a broad international perspective and solid practical skills.
Faculty: The faculty of MSc. CE, including several IEEE Fellows, have all studied or taught in internationally renowned universities. Therefore, students are allowed to access research guidance from leading international scholars.
Career and further study: MSc. CE graduates can apply directly to the Ph.D. Programme in Computer & Information Engineering, SSE, CUHK-Shenzhen. The university will regularly invite recruitment teams and experts from relevant enterprises to CUHK(SZ), providing students with numerous internship and employment opportunities from well-known companies.
Overseas exchanges: The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen has established in-depth partnerships with over 160 top-tier global institutions, offering a wide range of overseas exchange opportunities.

Application Requirements
1. Education Background Requirements:
· Graduated from a recognised university and obtained a bachelor’s degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class or achieving an average grade of not lower than “B”; or
· Completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
2. English Language Requirements for Admission:
· TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based)/79 (Internet-based/Home Edition);
· IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (Test Centre based/Online); or
· GMAT: Band 21 (Verbal); or
· GMAT Focus Edition: Band 78 (Verbal); or
· Taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English (The University may require applicants to provide supporting documents); or
· Obtained a recognized professional qualification, provided that the examination was conducted in English.
Note: TOEFL and IELTS scores are considered valid for two years from the test date. GMAT scores are considered valid for five years from the test date.
